Wonderful restaurant with exceptional food and very friendly owner/staff. I recommend the appetizer sampler - you will not be disappointed. All of the dishes are full of flavor and made by hand. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone interested in food from this region.

The MOST authentic Afghan cuisine I have tasted in the DC Metro area. The owner and his wife prepares the food themselves which is perhaps why it tastes like home. Having said that, all their dishes are well plated and the portions are generous. My whole family eats there and I make regular pilgrimages from Annapolis just to dine there!

I love this place. The food, the service and the energy is the best. Going back and having our Xmas dinner party for work again this xmas. Cant wait

It's ok. Nice aesthetic , shank and qabulai is good to try. Service is not that great. Seemed like a waning business!

Fantastic! Such nice people and a great dining experience. I had the pumpkin, eggplant, and spinach with no rice or bread to make it vegan. Amazing veggies! My boyfriend had kadu palow, slow cooked lamb in tomato sauce with pumpkin, but the best flavor he had was the eggplant from the vegan dish.

They make the baste lamb and bread. I love the rise too.

Quite possibly the only authentic Afghan restaurant left in the DC/Virginia area. Every other place I have visited seems to be Afghan only by name while using Pakistani and Indian spices and recipes.We have ordered the lamb chops and lamb kabob a number of times. You know the kabobs are going to be good when they ask you how you want them done! The qabili palaw looked good and came with sides (spinach and korma). Good portions of everything.The owner is really friendly and has joked with our family. The atmosphere is pretty family friendly. We will continue coming here!

I had the chicken kabobs and saffron rice the food was hot and delicious. Great service friendly staff. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting to have a nice intimate date night or family dinner.

It was the end of a late work trip and I stopped by here because traffic was so bad getting into DC that I didn't know what to do. Turns out this was a great little place with the owners being very friendly and the food thing exceptional. Prices were standard. If I'm back this way I'll stop by again for sure

Owner is both server and chef and does an amazing job at both. They have their own garden onsite and use mint, ghost peppers, black seeds, cardamom and more to season the delicious dishes and drinks. Mint is in most of the dishes we tried. Their Naan is unique and amazing... Very authentic according to my middle eastern friends I went with. They also had a delicious Indian beer I had never had before - Taj Mahal... A nice Amber lager with hopless finish. Their Baklava was unlike any other... Delicious and less sweet than my grandmother's Greek version, and full of fresh pistachios. I will definitely be back!

Exceptional food. I had the spinach dumplings, which was a new food for me and everything me and my family tried was extremely flavorful and well-made. It came out fast and the owner was so nice to us even though we came in close to their closing time. I will be back next time I am in Great Falls for sure. What a gem.

I ordered the eggplant and the chicken kabob....amazingly delicious!! This is my first time at this restaurant. The owner and chef is very nice and he answered all my questions. His recipes are his mom's, and I love that because I feel like I am eating home cooked meals. I really enjoyed the decor while waiting for my food. I forgot to ask for sauces, but the food tasted great even without the sauces. I will definitely come back.

Zamarod is one of our all time favorite restaurants. We start off absolutely every meal with the appetizer sampler (do not even think about forgoing this). We have ordered throughout the menu countless times and consistently have a five star experience. I particularly recommend the chicken and lamb kabobs. I'd be remiss if I didn't point out how enjoyable it is to joke around with the owner/chef - he has a great sense of humor that comes across every time we come in.

The food here is delicious, the vegetarian choices are exceptional in flavor. Best turnips I ever tasted. Spinach that is just a delight. Three types of rice, delicious! Go for a good exquisite culinary experience. This one is a keeper.

So yummy! I absolutely love and am used to Turkish/German kebobs, but these blew that away! If I didn't live a couple states away I would come here all the time
